4 Used sports cars that will stand out in the crowd
Sports cars are meant to stand out in the crowd, but lately the streets have been flooded with mustangs, camaros, chargers and challengers, as well as many european “M” and “AMG” variants. As manufacturers put sports badges on almost every model, what can you buy that will make you stand out in the crowd and also give you the thrill of performance driving? I wanted to share 4 unique used cars that I think you can get a great deal on right now that will be sure to make a splash at your local gas station or car meet.
#1 Alfa Romeo 4C
This is the definition of a true sports car. A mid engine 2 door coupe or convertible with a carbon fiber chassis and not a lot of luxury comforts. While this car does not have a lot of power, it gives you a true sports car driving experience. When new, these cars retailed for over $80,000, but now thanks to depreciation, models can be found for as low as $42,000. I do not think the price on these cars will stay low for long as we have already seen a relative bottom out in prices. Being a limited production car, there will always be an enthusiast market for these and now is a good time to buy.
#2 Jaguar F-Type
When the F Type came out, journalists all over the world praised its good looks and performance. This car is also known for its unique exhaust note, especially on the V8 models. When this car came out, some models would go into the $100,000 price range, but now, some of these cars can be bought for just over $30,000. The design still looks modern and the exhaust note does not go away with age. As with any Jaguar, maintenance can be a concern, so if you are considering this make sure to leave some room in budget.
#3 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
The 2nd Alfa Romeo on this list is a lot more practical than the first, and also potentially more fun to drive. The Giulia Quadrifoglio sports a 500 horsepower V6 that outperforms its class rivals of the BMW M3 and Mercedes S63 AMG. The cars design will also make sure to stand out in a crowd and its exhaust note might rival the Jaguar. These cars have been steadily depreciating from their initial $80,000 price point to some models being listed for sale for under $45,000. As Alfa Romeo looks to go hybrid and electric, this can be a good value as one of the last gas powered performance cars made by this iconic brand
#4 Cadillac CTS V
This is the most expensive car on the list, as I recommend the latest generation of the car, starting from 2015. The CTS V has a huge amount of power from its supercharged V8 and also an amazing amount of practicality from being a large full size sedan. This car outperformed a Ferrari 458 up Pike’s Peak and even 7 years later, its performance is still on par with any modern sports sedan. These cars were also produced in small amounts and most sold for over $90,000 when new, but now can be found in the $50,000 range. We have seen the first generation of CTS V start to slowly appreciate in value, and I can see the depreciation on these cars slow down very soon as well.
